The first question to ask is, do you want something of at least decent quality? Or do you want something temporary that you don’t care much about?
If you are trying to build something disposable, or something where you don’t care much about the quality, you can find a developer overseas to build it for a nominal price of about $3-5k.
upwork.com is great for that.
If you want something more solid, that you can build on top of overtime and that you don’t have to toss out, work on finding a good US based or local developer. Take a look at this quick read about
finding a good app developer.
Depending on the complexity of what you are looking to build, for any decent quality, expect to pay anywhere between $9k-25k for your app.
Take a look
at this tool, go through the questions and see what it comes up with. This should give you a pretty healthy ballpark estimate of what it’ll cost to get someone locally to build something of decent-good quality.
What estimation did this tool give you?
Is this something you can afford? If you have the idea in your head that you will find some app developer that will become your technical co-founder and work on your idea for 50%, it’s best to drop that from your head. Otherwise, you will find that path to be nothing but dead ends. In the chance that you do find someone willing to work for just equity, it will likely take a very long time to find them (6+ months or so).
If you have a tight budget, you can find some dev shops that do flat pricing. Breue offers a lovable product package for a flat $9k. Of course we’d have to chat first and map out a roadmap of what features are feasible for the first version. But, as long as we can agree on what a solid first version looks like, some good days are ahead! 👏😊
